This undergraduate course is the first of a 2-part course which deals with the fundamental laws of static
(non time-varying) electric and magnetic fields and leads naturally to dynamic
(time varying) fields and to Maxwell's formulation of the laws of electricity
and magnetism which underlie the operation of modern communication systems and
the global information infrastructure.
